Jane Peart

“Healing doesn’t have to be loud or fast. It begins with presence—gently listening to the body, the heart, and the stories we carry. That’s where change starts, and where we begin to feel more like ourselves again."

Hi, I’m Jane – a counsellor and body psychotherapist offering trauma-informed, holistic therapy across the Bellarine Peninsula and Melbourne and founder of Jane Peart Counselling & Body Psychotherapy.

I truly love this work. It’s a privilege to support people on their mental health and wellbeing journey, helping them gain clarity, compassion, and a deeper understanding of themselves and others. I believe that lasting change begins with presence—by gently observing how we experience life, we can begin to shift old patterns, beliefs, and behaviours that no longer serve us.

As a somatic therapist working with clients across Melbourne and the Bellarine Peninsula, I offer a body-based counselling approach that honours the connection between body and mind. In our sessions, I focus on being fully present and listening with care. I follow your experience and your story, creating a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. Together, we explore how change can emerge—naturally and at your pace—through greater self-awareness and connection.

Many of my clients seek support for anxiety, stress, trauma, and emotional overwhelm. By reconnecting with the body through breathwork, gentle movement, and mindfulness, they often discover a more grounded, fulfilling, and embodied way of living.

My own life journey has been rich and complex. Having lived overseas in culturally diverse communities, I bring cultural sensitivity and lived experience to my work. The tools I’ve learned—both personally and professionally—are things I use daily. They’ve helped me become a compassionate, experienced, and real-world therapist who understands the challenges of navigating change.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I trained and worked as a nurse. That background gives me a deep understanding of the nervous system, physical health, and how stress and trauma can affect the body. For the past decade, I’ve worked in mental health care—blending mind and body practices to support healing and growth in individuals from all walks of life.

I’m endlessly curious and non-judgmental about how each person experiences the world. My goal is to help you find relief, insight, and renewed purpose—whatever that looks like for you.

I offer counselling and body psychotherapy both online (via telehealth) and in person at Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula, working with individuals seeking support with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and more. I’m trained in Nursing, Counselling, Body Psychotherapy, Child Youth and Family Intervention, and Trauma-Informed Care, and I’m a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association.
